Cura not starting on Windows 10. Some users started reporting that Ultimaker Cura 4.3 and higher did not start properly, fur unknown reasons. We have implemented some code to get a better understanding of the issue, but we have not been able to fix it just yet.

Jan 10, 2020 · In order to implement that I didn’t write or modify any slicer but since CURA for example puts comments in the GCODE where infill, perimeters and similar start I thought it might be possible to just write a simple parser and post-process existing code. Therefore, I coded a small script in Python.

Simplify3D includes everything you need to work with your 3D printer. Model setup and plating, slicing and print file creation, pre-print simulations, customizable support structures, mesh analysis and repair, machine control and monitoring, and much more! With support for hundreds of 3D printers, Simplify3D is the last software you’ll ever need! Cura has its post-processing scripts and OctoPrint has its pause plugin(s). If you use them, you should probably exercise them on a test part and the sooner (low Z), the better. I tend to favor the Cura approach because then I can review the GCODE before/after the addition to see what's different. 1. In Cura I inserted a pause at height 3.1 mm. I tried different post processing scripts: Pause at height; Pause at height (BG printers) Pause at height for Repetier; After inserting the script I did the "slice" and saved the G-code to an SD card. When printing on my RF100 (firmware version 2.2) no script created a pause at all. There’s one extra step necessary (hopefully). STEP 2.5 : Cura doesn’t have any post-processing so we have to do this manually.

Aug 21, 2019 · But it will also work on the PowerBelt3D Zero. Apparently you can also use ANY slicing system as well. Here’s what you must do: slice the model in the normal fashion, as if for a cartesian device. Then use a special post-processing script to review the generated GCODE and “fix” it to work with the PowerBelt3D Zero.
Naturally, we do not have questions in which direction in the rib to lay the fibers. An edge is a one-dimensional structure that works either in tension, or in compression, or in bending. It will not work for transverse separation, because this measurement is very small. It will not work on interlayer shear, only in bending.

Of course we wouldn't be discussing that issue if there was a pause function in the GUI. Not everyone wants to write gcode or post-processing scripts. I recall CURA has a "pause at height" function included. Just specify where you want to pause (in mm, not layer, so changing slice parameters doesn't affect it!), and the rest is automatic. If your slicing software supports post-processing of the gcode, it’s possible you can do this work directly in the slicer. I found that if you just place the GPX executable into the “Post-processing scripts” field in Slic3r, it doesn’t work the way I want it too because Slic3r doesn’t let you pass command-line arguments to the script (for security reasons). To get around this, I created my own little Perl script to call GPX with the options I want. Scripts can also be run as an end-of-queue event. A post-processing script will only run when the job has completed without errors. If you want to always run the script, you need to disable the option Post-Process Only Verified Jobs. Scripts can be Python scripts, bash scripts and BAT scripts. Next, you can add the pause function into Cura, whilst this setting does exist natively, it is slightly buried in the menus: On the top menu open the Extensions Tab. Select Post Processing, then Modify G-Code. A Post Processing Plugin window will appear, press the ‘Add a Script‘ button. From the dropdown select ‘Pause at height‘.
May 17, 2015 · The Generated G-Code commands represent horizontal layers “slices” of the 3D model, sliced as the model was placed, scaled, and rotated in the slicing software’s platform, those commands are generated with user and printer-specific settings, all of which makes the G-Code almost impossible to modify in order to retarget different printers, let alone modifying the original model itself.

Thanks to fred_dot_u, I found the solution : the post processing scripts configuration is saved... in the printer profile. So, you cannot directly duplicate it, but re-installing a second occurrence of the same printer will make it clear of any post processing scripts, you can get them back by selecting the modified one... Not bad. In return, you give up a lot of detail. The MOARSTruder is great for printing large parts that don't need tiny details replicated or good surface quality. Haven't tried any post-processing on the parts to see if the surface quality can be improved (e.g., acetone mist or XTC-3D).

Oct 20, 2017 · In Cura, you can use the 'Pause at height' script, and edit the gcode to set the pause time. Search for 'M0' and change it to 'G4 Pxxxx' where 'xxxx' is the time to pause in milliseconds. I've not tried this, worth a try perhaps. Edit, I've just tried the G4 pause command with the stock board and firmware, it works!
